The story of Indigo Group began in 1992 with the establishment of Indigo Gallery in Cappadocia. Focused on Anatolian, Persian, and Caucasian carpets, this first venture quickly evolved into a destination admired by collectors, art enthusiasts, and distinguished visitors from around the world.
The entrepreneurial vision of its founder, Ömer Tosun, extended far beyond commercial activity. It laid the foundation for a series of innovative initiatives aimed at introducing Cappadocia’s unique cultural and natural heritage to the world. Guided by this vision, one of the region’s earliest hot-air balloon enterprises was launched, contributing to Cappadocia’s emergence as a globally recognized tourism destination.
In 1998, the Group entered the luxury travel sector through the establishment of Matiana Travel, specializing in bespoke travel experiences. This was followed in 2002 by the opening of Museum Hotel, Cappadocia’s first luxury boutique hotel. Over time, Museum Hotel evolved into one of Türkiye’s most distinguished hospitality brands, earning international recognition and numerous prestigious awards. Today, Lil’a Restaurant, White Table by Museum Hotel, and Maara Konak by Museum Hotel continue to reflect and expand this vision.
While continuing to strengthen its presence in tourism and hospitality, Indigo Group pursued opportunities in sectors capable of generating long-term value. This strategic direction led to investments in agriculture and viticulture, with approximately 400 decares of agricultural land developed in Cappadocia through sustainable and environmentally responsible practices.
Beginning in 2008, the Group expanded into the geothermal energy sector. Exploration activities conducted across Cappadocia and its surrounding regions led to the discovery of significant geothermal resources as well as high-purity carbon dioxide reserves. These efforts ultimately resulted in the establishment of INDICO₂, dedicated to carbon dioxide production and purification.
In the years that followed, Indigo Group further diversified its portfolio through hydrocarbon exploration, natural stone and marble investments, and additional projects within the energy and natural resources sectors. During the same period, investments focused on cultural heritage, art, and unique destination experiences became an integral part of the Group’s long-term growth strategy.
Today, Indigo Group operates as a diversified investment group with activities spanning tourism, gastronomy, travel, energy, hydrocarbons, carbon dioxide production, natural stone, agriculture, and cultural investments.
Drawing on more than three decades of experience, Indigo Group remains committed to the same guiding principle that has shaped its journey since the beginning: developing sustainable, high-value investments inspired by the unique character and potential of the regions in which it operates
